Pakistan Navy Under Attack

The PNS Mehran Air Base, Karachi has been attacked by an unidentified number of terrorists, armed with explosive material, rocket launchers, hand grenades and other guns. There had been a massive gunshots were heard and fire was seen from the base.
Pakistan Navy is under attack. And this time it is not from India, not from any drone attack of US. It is from our own funded brother TALIBANS.
They vandalised the base, Officials said the gunmen had attacked three hangars housing aircraft. Nine explosions were reported from the base, with jet fuel tanks possibly catching fire and exploding two P-3 Orion Aircraft, and killed One Ranger, 4 Navy officers, injured nine officers and still fighting and firing after 8 hours of attack started. It could show how determined, strong and well trained they are. Pakistani interior minister Mr Rehman Malik seemed to be at giving up position; his statement "We cannot deploy soldiers at every corner of country" expresses the big failure of security, lapse of intelligence and responsibility. He dropped the blame on Taliban supporters and declared it as a war against PAKISTANI FORCES instead of a terror attack. He was failed to satisfy the press when they asked about the security of base. Because it is not every corner of the country, it is right inside the naval base. The style of attack is similar like the attack of Sri Lankan team in Lahore (March 2009). However, this time according to eyewitnesses they were in cars. In previous attack, they were successful to run away however, in present attack they are still fighting and firing.

The question is "How did they enter?"

Where was the security? Were they in Uniforms?, did some insider helped them? or they were so negligent that no precautions or measures were taken to protect the base. It seemed left on the hope, that nobody would dare to enter due to the terror of base. According to Navy official Commodore Irfan, they entered from three sides of the base. He said that “the naval and SSG commandos are careful during the operation, therefore it has taken so many hours.” According to unconfirmed reports, there is possibility of holding officials as hostages from terrorists; therefore, it is taking so long to complete the operation.
I am again confused that how could they managed to take a large amount of ammunition inside, how is this possible that about a dozen (or may be more) of people enter and nobody could stop them. It could only be possible after a solid and long planning. Now if there was any planning, they must have wandered around the base, how and why they were unseen from the eyes of our agencies?, When there were already reports of massive attacks, which was somehow deceived by them for earlier small attack on naval buses (April 26th 2011) by taking five naval officers including two naval lady doctors.
It is surprising that after Abbottabad incident when the threats had been issued from Taliban and Al-Qaeda then why such a big security lapse. However, it has been denied as usual by the naval spokesperson and he reluctantly stressed upon the HIGH ALERT POSITION. Nevertheless, if such incident can happen during high alert position, then are our nuclear warheads are safe? What is the guarantee that same attacks cannot be taken place there and can cause a more big damage? Were the agencies bit relieved after attacks on naval buses in Karachi that yes now it has happened and no further crisis is going to happen?
Why couldn’t they realise that It is similar to strategic planned attacks of Al-Qaeda to deceive Pakistani intelligence; they diverted them to that TRAILER attack, and kept planning for the MAJOR SHOW. Exactly the same tactics, which was done on the assassination of Miss Bhutto, that first there was firing on Ex-Prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s rally and then a massive explosion on Miss Bhutto’s rally which took her life.
Now another question, that Will they be captured alive? Moreover, if yes, will they be brought under any public trial? Will the Pakistani nation ever come to know about the mastermind of this attack? As this is history of Pakistan in controversies that such proceedings or investigations are never shown to public. In addition, never brought before media, therefore, we have always remained unaware of the actual conspiracies. We blame India and US, but what to do with these people, who are none other but our own fellow citizens. What shall be the excuse to attack our own forces and how people would react, as it has been observed that not only few people of coalition parties but also some media anchors clearly showed their sympathy to Bin Laden by declaring him as a Martyr? Who is responsible to brain wash the nation where literacy rate is hopelessly low, where electricity is only provided for few hours a day, where inflation has eaten the flesh of a poor men. Where suicidal rate is increasing day by day, where frustration has rose so much that if a woman is asking for separation, she is poured by acid, where Police is so powerless, and then despite of knowing the target killers they are helpless to arrest them due to political pressure.
The main issue is to change school of thought which seems impossible, I wonder when ISI chief clearly taunted a religious leader in National Assembly for taking dollars from some countries then why they are not being watched. How and who made it possible to bring a large number of ammunition in Karachi which could explode not only base but it can cause more destruction. We are literary in hands of terrorists who are sympathised and supported by a large number of population as our Muslim fighters . Because a common man is only watching the propaganda against drone attacks, he is not well informed by the brutality of these terrorists.

Who is coming to save us from this eternal evil?

  1. All Defence Forces personnels having more than 2 plots be asked to resign. Cut the army to half immediately. Make them a true professional army. They should be given salaries at a criteria set by Britishers (less than civilians). Some be hanged for security lapses. Only then Pakistan can survive.

  2. I apologise that during editing (removing) a sentence I could not double check the new sentence due to shortage of time. "There had been a massive gunshots were heard and fire was seen from the base."
"There had been a massive" was actually a different sentence which was not removed completely. Hope to be ignored by readers.

  3. Yes I agree with you, This is not only a security lapse, This is a serious security lapse, as two of them have succeeded to escape. I am unable to understand that okkay When they entered, there was a security lapse. But when they were in, whole force was deployed.. SSG Commandos, Naval Commandos, Rangers. Why didn't they surrounded. Why they let them go..
As I wrote same thing last night in my article, that it is exactly designed like the attack on Sri Lankan Team, Why our strategic experts didn't kept in mind that their main tactics would be attack and then escape, Why didn't they surround the base.
